Doctors use different tests to check how well our hearts are working, like ECG stress tests and others. These tests are good at finding some heart problems, but sometimes they might show issues that aren’t really there.

Because of this, more people end up having more detailed heart tests (like coronary angiographies) that they might not actually need. This means some people might go through extra procedures, some even getting exposed to radiation when it might not even be of help.

In simpler terms, the tests are good but not perfect, so sometimes people get extra tests that might not be necessary. We want to avoid putting folks through more procedures and radiation if they don’t really need it.
